Ultra Efficient EarthWise™ Hybrid Split System
Trane EarthWise™ Hybrid Split Systems deliver both a high efficiency electric Heat Pump and a variable speed Gas Furnace. Delivering dual energy sources, this system can switch back and forth between the most efficient energy source for your homes needs at that time. A Trane EarthWise™ Hybrid System works by using either an electric or fossil fuel source. By combining both an XLi electric heat pump and the variable speed gas or oil furnace, this system can provide optimal comfort by the most efficient means. In cooler climates, the system can still find enough ambient heat in the air to keep your home warm and comfortable well into the fall with the electric heat pump. Although, when there is not enough ambient heat, the gas or oil furnace will become the most efficient and the system will switch over to keep your home comfortable. The switch point is set during installation, but can be overridden by the Comfort Control Module. Best of all, when temperatures rise in the spring and summer, the system will switch back automatically to delivering the efficient comfort of the Heat Pump. This is enhanced by the furnace’s variable-speed blower which helps move the freshly cooled air through your home.

Packaged EarthWise™ Hybrid System
Trane Packaged EarthWise™ Hybrid Systems includes the same high efficiency electric Heat Pump and a variable speed Gas Furnace as the EarthWise™ Hybrid Split Systems do, but these components are engineered to all work in harmony packaged in a attractive cabinet. This single unit system can be installed on the ground outside your home, or positioned on a roof top. Trane EarthWise™ Hybrid Packaged Systems use either the reliable, durable, energy efficient and quiet operation of the XL16c or XL14c Packaged EarthWise™ Hybrid System.
